Highlights of the Year 2016

Since the 2015 election, our challenges have been significant, however we have achieved much. When I look at what we have achieved during this period, we have balanced our budget, we are confident we can do so this year too, and we have minimised the cuts to our front line services.

Poole Schools Rising Again

Ofsted South West regional director Bradley Simmons has written to the Leader of Poole Council, Cllr Janet Walton, to commend her on the progress achieved in the performance of Poole schools. 350,000 more people in work

Between June and September this year unemployment fell by 37,000 and since last year 350,000 more people now have a full time job.

HM Government plans to reduce the number of MPs in the UK from 650 to 600. This will involve big changes to parliamentary constituencies. The Boundary Commission for England (BCE) proposes a list of changes to the boundaries of Poole, which are now open for public consultation.
