Cllr Ann Stribley - Parkstone

Ann was first elected in April 1977 and has held most senior positions within the Council, she is a former Conservative Group Leader and Deputy Leader of the Council. For most of her political career she has served on the Planning Committee, twice as Chairman since 2007. Ann is Mayor of Poole in the year 2015-2016.

Cllr Mike White - Hamworthy East

Mike has been a Councillor for Hamworthy East since 2003. He lives in Hamworthy with his wife Jennifer, a local therapist, and they have three grown children.

Cllr Mike Wilkins - Hamworthy West

Mike was first elected in 2007 and is a passionate and committed Councillor for his local residents. Mike has taken the lead on emergency planning and resilience for the Council and has a keen interest in the environment. Mike has worked to improve public transport accessibility for disabled people in his ward and around Poole. He has a strong interest in the right services being available to children of all ages and backgrounds. Mike lives on Turlin Moor and is married to Margaret. Cllr Karen Rampton - Branksome East

Karen was first elected in May 2008 and in her professional life work with people with learning difficulties.
As a Councillor Karen is Chairman of the Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee. She is striving to find better ways to engage with residents and to get them to participate in their community. Karen has a strong interest in transport issues and tries to ensure that all the transport networks make travelling easy and accessible to all.

Cllr Andy Garner-Watts - Poole Town

Andy was born in Pembrokeshire, South Wales, in 1959. He was raised and educated in Hildesheim, West Germany, and served for six years with the Parachute Regiment. He is a holder of the Certificate of Professional Competence for national road haulage and is a member of the Security Industry Authority, the Freight Transport Association, and the Society of Poole Men.

Cllr Vishal Gupta - Hamworthy East

Vishal is a ward campaigner in Hamworthy East. He has lived in Hamworthy for past 15 years with his wife Val. Since being elected as a councillor for Hamworthy East, he has represented Poole on the Joint Health Scrutiny Board for Clinical Services Review and Mental Health Acute Care Pathway. At present he sits on various committees.

Cllr Elaine Atkinson - Penn Hill

Elaine was first elected as Councillor in 1995 and was been Leader of the Council from 2010 to 2015. She has served in most areas of council services, with portfolio responsibilities including social services, health, housing and communities, culture and community learning. Among other achievements, she helped reconfigure day services for people with disabilities, achieved a refuge and community based domestic violence service in Poole, and oversaw the building and opening of Poole’s iconic Twin Sails Bridge in 2012.

Cllr Mohan Iyengar - Canford Cliffs

Mohan is married with three daughters and has lived in Poole for 12 years. He studied at Harvard and for 20 years has mentored organisations to improve customer service. His business is based in Canford Cliffs ward.Mohan's pledges

Cllr Peter Adams - Oakdale

Peter was first elected to the Council in May 2003. Immediately he led a select committee on smoking in public places, the evidence and outcome from which fed into the government's decision to ban smoking in public places. As portfolio holder for the environmental areas, he was instrumental in getting the fantastic outdoor gym in Poole Park and funding to update and create new play areas for children. He is a keen athlete and once helped a blind man to run a marathon.

Cllr Drew Mellor - Branksome East

Drew trained as an accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers before founding the AddVenture Group where he and his team advise and invest in businesses in the South.Living in Branksome East with his partner Katie, who was born in Poole, Drew is a keen runner and charity activist. He has completed several fundraising campaigns including cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats and rowing around the Isle of Wight. He is currently preparing for the London Marathon to raise funds for Children With Cancer.
