Sir Robert Syms

Sir Robert Syms, Member of Parliament for Poole, welcomes the announcement by Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, that as part of the Government's long term plan for the NHS he is funding the Mental Health Estate Development scheme with new investment of up to £5.932 million, which will deliver an additional Older Age Mental Health Unit on the Alderney site in Poole.

This is part of £1 billion extra capital funding being announced across England. It comes on top of the £20.5 billion per year extra funding for the NHS over the next five years - the longest and largest funding settlement in the NHS's history. The investment is part of the wider plan to provide better services for patients, integrate care better and renew aging facilities.
