Malcolm was born in Poole, has lived in the Newtown Ward with partner Trish since 1979 and between them they have four grown children and two grandchildren. He enjoys running and keeping fit, is a keen follower of Poole Pirates speedway team and a season ticket holder of AFC Bournemouth.
As a former manager for Wessex Water, Malcolm always had to work with deadlines and budgets and during 2012 worked with the Olympic committee and the Environment Agency to ensure the local sailing at Weymouth took place in environmentally friendly waters .
He is a former Borough of Poole Councillor for Newtown, where he sat on various Council committees including Health, Business Improvement and was also Chairman of the Place Committee. In the ward he continues to work with local residents on planning applications, social housing, flooding issues, road safety and making Newtown & Heatherlands a safe place to live.
During the Covid Pandemic, Malcolm volunteered and worked many hours at both the BIC and Kings Park Hospital Vaccination centres, assisting in the vaccination of local residents.
He was part of a committee that raised money for the defibrillator at Phyldon Road Community Hall and would like to ensure the ward is adequately covered with these vital lifesaving pieces of equipment.
Malcolm is very passionate about children with special needs and was until recently Trustee Chairman of Autism Unlimited, where he strived to raise the awareness of Autism. He is now a Volunteer Parent Champion working in local schools to help parents with special needs children.
