 Poole MP, Robert Syms, congratulated residents in Parkstone who have outstanding gardens. Parkstone in Bloom is organised by local resident, Tony Reeves, and encourages a high standard of garden maintenance in the area. With 16 volunteers and the support of the Ward Councillors, Ann Stribley, Tony Woodcock and Don Collier. Tony Reeves said “We inspected over 650 gardens, shortlisted 68 and finally have given Commended Certificates to 55 and Highly Commended to 13. We then decided to give 4 prizes for the best of the Highly Commended.”
Over 50 people attended the ceremony at St Peter’s Centre, Chapel Road last night to be given their Certificates and prizes by Poole MP Robert Syms and Councillor Ann Stribley.
First Prize: Mrs Sally Riddington, 169 South Western Crescent
Second Prize: Miss Ralph and Mr Darrington, 21 Bond Road
Third Prize: Mrs Jean Robinson, 6 Courtenay Road
Fourth Prize: Mrs Margaret Fouracres, 30 Copse Close
Robert Syms said “Parkstone in Bloom was a great success – and I am sure will be continued in future years. Many of the gardens were fantastic.”
